SEWB Counsellor

Bega Garnbirringu Health Service (Bega) are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and committed applicants to fill the role of Counsellor.

Under the direction of the Social and Emotional Wellbeing Coordinator, Counsellors are to ensure the delivery of culturally appropriate social and emotional health support to the Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities of the Goldfields.

The successful applicant will possess a relevant qualification and experience in Social Work or Counselling; a current WA drivers licence; a current Police certificate and Working with Children’s Check; demonstrated experience in Community Engagement events; demonstrated organisation and time-management skills; effective verbal and written communication skills; demonstrated problem-solving skills and an understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal people. 

The position will provide case management of clients and actively engage with the community in a culturally appropriate manner, which promotes positive experiences in social and emotional wellbeing.

This position may require you to travel on Outreach as required.

Midwife – New Directions

Bega Garnbirringu Health Service (Bega) are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and committed applicants to fill the role of Midwife (New Directions).

The purpose of the position aims to engage and support young Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander (ATSI) women who are pregnant with or have a ATSI child aged 0-8 years, in a culturally appropriate manner which actively promotes the health and wellbeing of the mother, child and family.

The position will provide case management of clients and deliver ante-natal classes for the target group at our health service and to seek and actively engage with young mothers in a culturally appropriate manner, which promotes positive experiences of pregnancy and birthing, along with effective parenting. 

You must have a current AHPRA registration as a Midwife; police certificate (not older than 6 months); current working with children’s check; current WA drivers licence.

Registered Nurse –  Mobile Clinic

Bega Garnbirringu Health Service (Bega) are currently seeking expressions of interest from suitably qualified and committed applicants to fill the role of Registered Nurse (Mobile Clinic).

The Registered Nurse is responsible for the delivery of quality primary health care to clients and families of the Goldfields.

You must be able to undertake scheduled travel within the Goldfields region on a regular basis, up to 4-5 days at a time and have an interest in developing and maintaining effective networks, alliances and relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander individuals, families and other Health Organisations. 

Due to the remote nature of this work, we require our Mobile Clinic team to have at least 2 years Primary Health Care experience. 

You must hold a current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse, hold a current “MR” or higher WA drivers licence (or willing to obtain); police certificate (not older than 6 months); current working with children’s check;
